Protect yourself and your family from financial fraud.

Falling victim to fraud can have damaging effects on your finances and your personal life. At First Community Bank, we want to help you protect your identity and your accounts by sharing helping information about fighting fraud.

• Set parental controls on your child’s devices.
• If you're using a First Community Bank credit card or debit card, you can enroll in Alerts to get a text or email whenever you pay with your card.
• Don’t trust unsolicited investment offers — even if a friend recommends them.
• Only send money or info through verified, official sources.
• Watch for fake profiles, phishing, and sketchy links.
• Shred sensitive documents.
• Watch for red flags like requests for gift cards, cryptocurrency, or urgent financial help.
• Be sure your passwords are not easily guessed, and try not to use the same password for multiple accounts.
• Set up additional alerts using MyFinance in the Xpress Mobile App for additional protection.
• Follow First Community Bank social media channels for frequent posts regarding updates in how best to protect yourself and your finances.
• Never share security codes, login credentials, personal/card information, or allow remote device access in response to calls, texts, or emails. These requests are scams.

Please keep in mind, if First Community Bank needs to verify a transaction, we may ask a security question – but we won’t repeatedly contact you via email or phone. In fact, we will never contact you by phone, email, or text, asking for confidential information, demanding immediate payment, seeking payment with gift cards, or requiring you to click on suspicious links.
